Easy DIY Fluffy Slime!

Are you looking for something fun to do with your kids? I have the perfect thing for you. Saylor has been into that gross fart slime lately, so I knew this was perfect for us. This video (see HERE) showed up in my FB feed and I thought it seemed totally easy to do! No weird ingredients. All you need is:

In the original video I went off of, they made a huge batch, so I cut that in half. The amount of slime that I made was perfect for 2 kids, and would have worked well for up to 4 in my opinion. All you do is:

Bye Bye Sticky Messes, with Goo Gone

Who else around here has a 3 year old? Or a messy husband (LOL)? Or even is into crafting? If so, I am so excited to share something with you I recently discovered. That’s right, I’m talking about Goo Gone Original Spray Gel.

Before I get into it, let me remind you that I have been potty training Saylor over the past 3 weeks or so (more on that later!). She has done so well, and she responded well to a reward/bribe system, lol. A major part of that system was STICKERS. Oh, stickers. I sort of hate them. They get on everything, and come off of nothing! Until now! Seriously though, Goo Gone saved some kitchen cabinets at a friends lake house we were staying at over the long weekend.

Kitchen Backsplash Ideas…

Ever since we moved into our house in January, I’ve been brainstorming ideas and decor. Furnishing and upgrading an entire house is expensive and time consuming, but I figured that a small backsplash would be one of the easiest things to do. But I can’t decide on a tile! I’ve Pinned a lot of different ones that I like…HELP ME! Which would you choose?

All images are just from Google.

I can’t decide if I want to stick with a basic, classy white, or add a little bit of color. What do you prefer? This is my kitchen:

Exciting New Products!

I was so excited when Essential Oxygen reached out to me and offered to send me a bottle of their Organic Brushing Rinse and Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide. I have been wanting to try the hydrogen peroxide for over a year, and although I had never heard of the brushing rinse, as soon as I looked into it I was completely on board.

The Brushing Rinse is all good things. Each ingredient is natural and high quality. It helps with the health of your mouth and gums, bad breath, and whitens teeth! I’ve been using it about a week and I’m excited to see if I notice a difference in a month or so. It’s sort of like toothpaste and mouthwash in one, you swish a small amount around in your mouth, and then brush with the rinse still in!

Back To (PRE)School!

For those of you with older kids, this is all routine and old news to you. But to others with their first kid, like myself, starting (pre)school in the fall, I thought it would be fun to put together a small list of some back to school essentials! Obviously in preschool they don’t need much of anything, but here are some fun idea’s of a few things they might need.

  1. A BACKPACK! Of course. I try to steer clear of character anything (sorry, Saylor!), but I love these animal SkipHop Backpacks from Target. One thing that Saylor’s teacher told me, and I wouldn’t have even thought about it, was to send them with a full sized backpack, or at least big enough for papers to fit in it. Littles can get frustrated with trying to cram everything in there.

2. NEW OUTFIT…duh! This is the best part. Gap has a ton of cute stuff right now, and they always have good sales.

These Are The Days

…that I never want to forget. We spent the afternoon outside at Grandma’s house, Saylor playing in her little pink plastic pool. It’s a warm day, there are lots of bugs, the neighbor has a huge great dane puppy that keeps coming over and scaring Say (lol), but we are together and that’s all I care about lately. Troy’s job has taken him away from us a lot this summer, and it’s hard not to get upset and annoyed about it. The summer is almost over, THANK GOODNESS, so we are all trying to be positive and just pound out these last few weeks! Props to all of those who do summer sales, it is not for the faint of heart!

A Dad’s First Blog

I can’t remember a time that I didn’t look forward to having kids.  Growing up the question wasn’t whether or not I wanted kids, but how many.  I realize now that that decision isn’t 100% up to me.  Robyn has informed me that we are not having the 11 kids I wanted for a football team.  Now that Saylor turned three earlier this week, I realized i couldn’t have had that many kids either and it’s for the simple reason of it would be too difficult.  When I say “difficult” though, it may be a little different than what you are thinking, let me explain.

BabyLit Giveaway and Review!

BabyLit. Ah. Where to begin? Saylor and I have been reading BabyLit books together since she was a tiny little baby. A family member had gifted us a few her first Christmas and I could instantly tell that these books were different. Not just because of their perfect size, how well they are made, but they hit something within Saylor! By the time she was a year, I swear she had Alice in Wonderland and Romeo & Juliet memorized. #babygenius! I’m just kidding…I know it has everything to do with the way these books are designed specifically for our little ones. Fun, creative images in bright colors. Dark, big and bold print, in simple words for kids to say and remember.
