Since I can now publicly talk about being pregnant and having another baby come May, I can talk about all the fun things that go along with that, yay! Enter, double strollers. Do I really need one? Saylor will be about 4 by the time this baby comes, and I honestly don’t use a stroller a whole lot with her. I’ve thought, well I could just get one that has a kick board for her, I plan on carrying the baby for as long as I can get away with it…all these thoughts that I’m sure second time moms have.
A couple weeks ago I went into the Baby Cubby to try and make my decision and answer questions I had. If you are local to Utah, I’m sure you have visited or heard of Baby Cubby. I love visiting them as opposed to a big box retailer. They really focus on trying to be a resource to us parents, and not just sell us “stuff”. They make a point to help us when we feel overwhelmed about becoming a parent. The team at Baby Cubby is made up of parents who have been there, so they are passionate about encouraging, inspiring, and reminding parents how amazing we are and how important our role is. Going into the Baby Cubby, I sort of have an idea of what I liked and what I didn’t like. I knew I didn’t want a side by side stroller; I have seen friends struggle getting them through doorways and crowds. They just don’t seem convenient for me! I tested one out in the store and was actually surprised how EASY it was to maneuver, so don’t completely rule it out for yourself until you have tested it!
This is the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double Stroller.
My top 3 I wanted to checkout were the UppaBaby, Britax B-Agile, and the City Select.
They all have similar frames and similar wheel sizes and similar canopies. The City Select seems so long, and surprisingly didn’t drive as easily as I was expecting, considering how popular it is! I checked that one off my list.
The UPPAbaby Vista double stroller is definitely a luxury stroller, and has the price tag to come along with it. I really like the look of it and it seems there is a bit more leg room for the back seat. I learned that you can buy the stroller as a set, meaning with the second seat, kick board, etc…instead of buying everything separate, which may save you money in the long run.
My personal fave…the Britax B-Ready.
I was so, so impressed with this Britax stroller! They have a new model that I was excited to checkout. I like the idea of having the second seat down below, instead of out front. Saylor really liked that, too! The handle bar moves up and down, and not just in and out (if that makes sense), and I love that. We have always used Britax car seats as well, and would use their infant car seat with this for the new baby as well.
