Learning to Relax & Take Care of Myself

Thank you iHerb for sponsoring this post!

Does anyone else have a hard time relaxing and taking time for yourself? I know I do! Of course I love to relax and pamper myself, but sometimes being a mom to 2 busy little girls impedes that. There are days that are so stressful and long, that I will literally force myself to take a bath or do a face mask…something that simply takes 10 minutes but is a sure way to elevate my spirits and make me feel relaxed.

iHerb carries about 1,200 brands and over 35,000 products that you would typically find at health food stores and natural pharmacies, and their prices are much more affordable. Shopping with them is easy breezy, and all orders in the US over $20 ship free. They also ship to over 160 countries and have customer support available in 10 languages…now that is really cool.

Here are a few products I have been using and loving lately. I love their natural properties, and I especially have been loving all the different smells. My go-to way to relax lately has been taking a bath with these lavender bath bombs and/or this epsom soak in eucalyptus + citrus. I’ll also light candles everywhere, at all times. They help me feel balanced and make me happy. I have been loving this candle from Mrs. Meyers. I love all of this brands scents, the candles and dish/hand soap is my fave!

If you’ve been around these parts for a while, you know I love skincare. I struggle with acne, thanks hormones and babies, so I am always trying to find things to combat that. I also am always looking for things to tighten, brighten and lift my skin. I have been wanting to try products from both Acure Organics and Pixi Beauty, so I finally just got a few to try! This brightening cleanser from Acure has hundreds of 5 star reviews, and so far, I can see why. It is gentle, yet thorough enough for me to feel like my skin is clean and glowing. I follow the cleanser with this Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic, and I’m OBSESSED. Many other beauty bloggers rant and rave about how amazing pretty much everything from this brand is, so I was so excited that I liked it so much. This mask from them is just a good as I was hoping as well.

Another thing that keeps me going and healthy (most of the time), are taking vitamins. Vitamin C is a staple around our home, we all take it daily. We also all love and prefer gummy vitamins, so these gummy Emergen-C vitamins make everyone happy. And one last product I have been loving is this natural deodorant. The brand is Schmidt’s, which I had never used before but, like always, I read reviews and was lead to this one! I chose the scent Rose + Vanilla, and it keeps me feeling refreshed and my skin soft. It is a bit thicker than regular deodorant, so you need to hold it to your skin for a few seconds to get it to melt a little bit.

New customers can get a discount off their iHerb by clicking here. I wish lots of relaxation and calmness to everyone who needs it. Especially us moms! I know how crazy life gets with busy husbands, grumpy babies, but I know I always feel better when I take even just a few minutes for myself each day.

xo,

Robyn

Healing Acne with Trophy Skin

I have suffered with acne for most of my life. Can anyone else relate? It is the worst! And as I am getting older, it is getting worse. UGH. I never thought that that was even a thing…until it became my life. I’ve tried anything and everything to help my skin, and I have found some things to help keep my breakouts *mostly* at bay, but I still find I get these red marks and little scars that tend to stick around for so long.

I was excited when I found THIS product and especially when I read the reviews. It seemed like this machine actually WORKED for people, and is really safe and effective. The BlueMD uses LED technology to safely and effectively eradicate the acne-causing bacteria that cause blemishes and blackheads.

What I really like about this light therapy system, is that it only takes 5 minutes! It is so simple and easy to do, and takes no time or thought. They say that this heals your skin from the inside out, and I really like that idea, that it isn’t just on the surface. I love that you can use it for many different things too, not just if you have acne!

The light isn’t painful at all, you don’t feel a single thing. It is simple enough for anyone, all ages, to use. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and it isn’t an eyesore! Most people see results as early as 3 weeks, and some don’t see any until closer to 12 weeks. Consistency is key. You can learn more about how to use the BlueMD LED Blue Light Therapy HERE.

For a limited time, Trophy Skin is offering my readers 10% off using code SSLIFE10 – that is awesome! Also, the BlueMD is currently 50% OFF!! So hurry right now and grab it at an amazing price!

Thank you Trophy Skin for sponsoring this post.

My Experience with BodyBoss Fitness Guide

Hi all! As most of you know, working out is a STRUGGLE for me. To say the least! Especially after having Remi, I am still trying to figure out when the best time to shower and clean the house is, let alone squeeze a workout in. I love that there are so many “work out at home” options these days, so you don’t have to go anywhere, and you don’t need any fancy equipment. I was recently introduced to the BodyBoss Method. What it is is a Fitness Guide you follow…you workout 3 days a week, for 24 active minutes, and the program is 12 weeks. BodyBoss workouts include fun and challenging high intensity workouts. You may have heard of HIIT before, high intensity interval training, these circuits are key for maximum fat burning and power. They also have made a bonus 4 week pre-training program, which is so nice for people like me who are intimidated or not in shape to just jump right in!

I also like having the booklet on hand. It is easier for me to be able to hold and physically touch something, and go page by page. If that isn’t your thing, you can order the online version, which gives you access to everything online.

I wasn’t quite sure what I was expecting, but I knew 3 days a week sounded very doable. I found that working out in the morning is the best time for me…during the day gets too busy with two kids and if I work out at night, I don’t sleep…haha! Does anyone else have that problem? Each day you work out is focused on a different part of the body, legs one day, core another day, etc…and they also give you recommendations on how to do some easy cardio on the “rest” days, to get your heart rate up and stay active.

Another thing I like about working out from home is that I can do it with my babies at my side! Saylor isn’t in these pictures, but she likes to do some of the stretching and exercises with me, which makes it more fun for me. Remi also likes getting out of the house.

The Fitness Guide has been so helpful. At the back of the book it has photos and a description of all the exercises and stretches. I am a visual person so that really helps me, and lets me know if I am doing everything correct. I am anxious to see my results once I really get into it. I don’t really have any weight to lose, I just need to tone up and develop some muscle tone. There is a few pages in the fitness guide dedicated to tracking your goals, and how to stay motivated and what to look for. This BodyBoss program is perfect for the busy mom, the person who is intimidated by gyms, or the person who only has a few moments in their day to make count.

Let me know how you guys like to workout, and if you prefer working out not in a typical setting, I highly recommend you try BodyBoss! The tank I am wearing from them is also very soft and comfortable, FYI!

Robyn

COLLAGEN!

Hey all! Have you guys heard of the collagen trend going on right now? I first heard about it and the benefits of it earlier in the year, while I was pregnant. I heard that it was specifically really good for your hair, nails, and skin, and all I could think about is how I need in on this because we all know how much our hair falls out postpartum. (well mine at least, anyways, ugh!)

Collagen is naturally produced in our body, but once we hit a certain age, the production dramatically decreases and the signs of aging start setting in. Supplementing collagen daily can help to counteract this. Now, I am no doctor, but I talked to my midwife and was given the go ahead to start this. I have been taking it daily for about 2 weeks and I have noticed my nails are growing like crazy, and seem super strong. I am anxious to see the effects that it has on my hair, if it will help with postpartum hair loss.

This powder from Sports Research is flavorless and easily dissolves in water (and other liquids). I like to have it in the morning, with my breakfast. I mix a scoop with room temperature water and shake it up. I also heard that you can pretty much add it to anything, because it mixes well and is flavorless! Think smoothies, pancakes, muffins…the possibilities really are endless.

Sports Research has a ton of other awesome supplements and products. I spent some time reading FAQ’s and reviews on their website, and everything was positive and very educational. Collagen is so good for us, you should try it! Let me know what you think.

Robyn

Getting Back Into Shape with Flex Society

…maybe. Hahah.

Okay hear me out. I know I have said time and time again that I am going to start working out and get back into shape, but this time I really am holding myself to it! I think for my sanity alone, I need to “just do it” (no pun intended). I don’t know when I lost my affinity for working out, but I suppose it was sometime between the ages of 21-24. So a long, long time ago! Growing up I was so active and athletic, and I even feel like I’m so uncoordinated now. I don’t know what the heck happened, but it is going to change! And I want/need you to help hold me acocuntable.

When I was pregnant with Remi I knew after she was born, I wanted to start working out in some way. I am not a fan of traditional gyms…you would have to cut my arm off to get me to leave my babies in the daycare to go workout. The horror! (No offense here people! I would rather stay at home and just not, haha.) I was looking into different at home type programs, but there are so many, I honestly didn’t know where to start or what I really was even looking for.

Plug Flex Society.

Just what I was looking for. It is a fitness program geared toward those who only have a few spare moments (hello, MOM’s, ME) to workout. All workouts can be done in 20 minutes or less, and there are 2 versions of the workouts, a light & advanced, so no need for equipment! Each day you get a new fat burning and toning workout sent to your phone. The workouts target specific body parts, but also works the full body for optimal fat burning. All the workouts can be done anywhere, anytime. You can do them at the gym if you’re into that, or at home (or even the park while Saylor plays) like I am into! The cost is only $15 per month. So much more affordable than other programs out there. That works out to about 50 cents a workout. This is also cheaper than any gym membership! You can also find out more on their IG at @flex.society.

I imagine many workouts will be done here. In my bedroom, next to my sleeping baby. I am going to try really hard to do what I can, but to do something for myself every day.

Now for the fun stuff. The gear! If I am going to start working out, I probably need some cute new workout clothes right?

Look how cute these Nike’s are! I could workout in these. V affordable, too.

Honestly if someone wants to buy me THIS whole setup, I will make you a batch of cookies hah! Lmk if you need my shipping address and size.

Anyways, I hope you join me on my fitness journey with Flex Society, and definitely check them out! It would be fun to create a group of us to hold each other accountable and do this together! Let me know if you are interested in that!

xo,

Robyn
