How To Make A Diaper Cake

…that isn’t that appealing to the eye, LOL! Note to self, next time I do this, make sure someone else is around to help. Having only one set of hands proved to make things difficult.

So I’m going to my girlfriends baby shower tomorrow, and last minute decided to make a diaper cake. Because, why not? I have never made one before, so I hit up Google, and went off of the tutorial found HERE. I didn’t have rubber bands at home, and didn’t feel like going to the store for them, so I planned to use twine to tie the layers together.

Here is what you need, and you can add whatever you want to it to make it bigger and more cute. I just used what I had!

You’ll need a half used roll of paper towels for the center of your tower. Lay out a line of diapers, overlapping like you see below. I didn’t know how long to make each layer, so I just learned as I went. Then start rolling. This was the difficult part with only one set of hands, but I made it work!

You can make each layer as thick as you want, and you can always remove diapers when you are done to define each layer better. Do this 3 times. This would have been easier with rubber bands. My layers didn’t end up as layer-ey (lol) as I would have liked, but whatevs!

Once the layering part is finished, take whatever you want to it to make it pretty! I just had a cute pin and some ribbon, and thought to use a few packs of wipes as the “base” for the cake. That’s it! It took me maybe 15-20 minutes, and I think is a cute and unique gift idea 🙂

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you have a great weekend 🙂
